Believe it or not, last September’s posting of Page 2 of the Hero Happy Hour colours I did was not the last page that was posted.
I have been asked to colour Part 2 of the Cease and Desist storyline so I thought now would be a good time to get my ass in gear and post a round up of all the pages of Part 1.
These pages were all drawn by the super talented Grant Perkins and inked by the lovely Eva Perkins, Part 2 will be art by Chris Fason (the co-creator of HHH) and as such is a slight change of colouring style. Hopefully I do it justice.
Again I’ll try and update reguarly including details of a few other projects I’m working on, I give it four months bfore the updates dry up again.
It’s official! On September 21, 2010 the Hideout Bar & Grill reopens its doors for business when fan-favorite Hero Happy Hour returns as an all-new web comic available only at herohappyhour.com. Kicking off the launch of the all-new Hero Happy Hour web comics is a freshly poured story written by Hero Happy Hour co-creator Dan Taylor. Featuring art by Grant Perkins, with inks by Eva Perkins and colors by Chris Barker.
Be sure to follow Hero Happy Hour on facebook and twitter, bookmark herohappyhour.com now, and get ready to return on September 21, 2010 to belly-up to the bar “where everybody knows your name,” secret identity or not.
Here’s one of the pieces I have been colouring between writing as part of my thing a day. Saturday may suffer thing-a-day wise but I will be at Alt.fiction with loads of cool people so I think it’s justified.

Happy New Year everyone, hope every one had a good Christmas/New Year.
Mine went well, a bit of illness and I’ve spent FAR too much money but now it’s time to get down to business.
I don’t make New Years Resolutions usually, but this year I am resolved to set out my targets and achieve them, chief among them is that I am resolved to make some serious headway on scripting ‘Shiver’.
I have a url registered for it now, the contract will be along shortly.
Along with this I need to write more short scripts and submit them to the various anthologies doing the rounds.
One of the other reasons for the change to ComicPress is that I am participating in a ‘Drawing Words & Writing Pictures’ Nomad Groups over at ‘The Comic Forums’ which is basically a group of comic creators (wether they be writers or artists) working their way through this book called ‘Drawing Words and Writing Pictures’.
The book is like a textbook / syllabus for comic creation and it will involve me drawing scripts as exercises then discussing and critiquing with the rest of the group. I have no art skills to speak of so the comics above may turn out to be horrendous but the point of the Nomad Group is to get better and more creative. Maybe I’ll find a creative way around my lack of art skills… maybe not. Hopefully it’ll help me in a bunch of other ways too though.
*fingers crossed*
I have once again torn chunks from the Comic script that I am focusing on at present, needed to get the first 5 pages to be a nice contained action packed chunk as I may send it as a pitch to Shadowline. I think I have those pages working well now and I have begun re-planning the the rest of the action to fit in three separate 22page issues.
I also have a prose story I need to finish for the Derby Scribes Isolation competition as well as another one I need to start for the GeekSyndicate writing competition over at ‘The Comic Forums’.
It’s going to be a busy month and then NaNoWriMo is looming large again in a few months too, I need to try and avoid the XBox… my arch nemesis!!!
